个人简介
  冯根生教授、博导,1981年毕业于中国杭州大学生物学系,1982年-1984年就读于第二军医大学,获免疫学硕士,1990年获印第安那大学分子生物学博士学位。现任加州Burnham研究所教授,兼加州大学圣地亚哥分校病理系教授,2006年聘为厦门大学生物医学研究院兼职教授,同年评为博士生导师。
  研究方向为探讨糖尿病与肥胖症的分子机理及新型药物的开发,得到美国国立卫生研究院(NIH)的支持。先后获得11项研究基金,共计500万美元。
  1999年获中国国家杰出青年科学基金。先后在Science、Nature Medicine、PNAS、EMBO J. 等国际著名学术刊物发表了60多篇文章,并应邀为Trends In Genetics写综述充分证明他在其所在领域中的学术地位。担任Nature Cell Biology等十个国际著名学术刊物的Reviewer。
  应邀做过七十多个学术报告,并为美国、欧洲、香港的八个基金机构包括美国国立卫生研究院、美国心脏学会、美国癌症学会等担任评审人,同时被浙江大学聘为“光彪”讲座教授。冯根生博士在细胞信号传导及糖尿病与肥胖症的机理研究方面做出了世界领先的突出贡献,被吴瑞先生列为1949年以来对生物化学领域做出突出贡献的84位旅美华人科学家之一。

English Introduction

Prof. Feng Gensheng graduated from the Department of Biology, Hangzhou University, China in 1981. From 1982 to 1984, he received a master's degree in immunology from the Second Military Medical University. In 1990, he received a doctor's degree in molecular biology from Indiana University. He is currently a professor at the Burnham Research Institute of California and a professor at the Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego. He was appointed as an adjunct professor at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of Xiamen University in 2006 and was named doctoral supervisor in the same year.

The research is supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to explore the molecular mechanism of diabetes and obesity and to develop novel drugs. It has received 11 research grants totaling 5 million US dollars.

In 1999, he was awarded the National Science Foundation for Outstanding Young People of China. He successively studied in Science, Nature Medicine, PNAS, EMBO J. He has published more than 60 articles In international famous academic journals, and was invited to write a review on Trends In Genetics, which fully demonstrates his academic status in his field. Served as a Reviewer of 10 internationally renowned academic journals such as Nature Cell Biology.

He was invited to give more than 70 academic reports, and served as a reviewer for eight foundation organizations in the United States, Europe and Hong Kong, including the National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, and so on. At the same time, he was appointed as the "Guangbiao" Professor in Zhejiang University. Dr. Feng Gensheng has made outstanding contributions to the research of cell signaling and the mechanism of diabetes and obesity. He is listed as one of the 84 Chinese scientists in the United States who have made outstanding contributions to the field of biochemistry since 1949 by Mr. Wu Rui.

Prof. Feng Gensheng graduated from the Department of Biology, Hangzhou University, China in 1981.
